Date:  Tuesday 7th November 2017

Time: 4-5.30pm

Venue:  Marden Bridge Middle School, Lovaine Avenue, Whitley Bay, NE258RW

Who this course is aimed at:

Year 5 Teachers, Teaching Assistants & Cover Supervisors

(Year 4 & 6 teachers will also find this course useful for ideas. The scheme of work has been written for Year but can be adapted for different year groups. https://www.lpdanceineducation.com/dance-schemes-of-work/

Theme: 

The course is based on the dance scheme of work ‘The History of Street & Break Dance’  We will have a whistle stop tour of he following:

You will be shown how this exciting scheme of work can be delivered effectively without the teacher having to demonstrate themselves. (You do not have to be able to dance to deliver this theme) 

  • African
  • Capoeira
  • Gumboot (bring wellington boots or other long boots)
  • Lindy Hop
  • Street & Break Dance

This course aims:

  • To provide you with a bank of practical ideas to implement into your dance lessons
  • To help increase your confidence in the delivery of dance
  • To increase knowledge and understanding of dance terminology KS 2 Dance
  • To have a chance to develop your own creativity and have some fun.

What to bring:

  • Comfortable clothing that you are able to move around in
  • Trainers (or bare feet)
  • Wellington boots or a pair of long boots (not essential but will be more fun if you have them)
  • If you would rather not take part practically you are very welcome to observe and make notes

  • PowerPoint notes from the course emailed electronically after attendance at the course
