Support with Home Schooling: Interactive Virtual Creative Educational Dance Lessons linked to the Primary National Curriculum
‘Bringing the Primary Curriculum to Life at Home’
At what is already, and unfortunately about to become even more so, a stressful time, the team here at LP Dance in Education have been looking at how we can help support you with home schooling. We are a team of qualified teachers (QTS) specialising in creative educational dance from EYs – A-Level.
We are planning to offer virtual dance lessons, which will be filmed and uploaded into google docs for you to view in your own time.
Who are they for: KS 2 children initially and this may well expand to Early Years and up to GCSE and A-Level. Parents / carers will be able to take part in the lessons too if they wish or can use time to (run and hide!).
Length of time: 40 minutes
What will the lessons entail: (example)
- Warm up
- Taught creative movement phrases related to the theme
- Questions & Answer
- Creative tasks related to the theme
- Sharing & Feedback
- Cool Down
Cost: At a time of economic crisis we will be keeping cost to a minimum charge of £3 per household per session and you will be able to watch this session as many times as you wish (payment will be via Paypal – once payment is received you will receive a video link).
Examples of the weekly themes of the lessons :
- Literacy – Full stops & Capital Letters, spellings, poetry & stories
- Sports themes – football, rugby, tennis, swimming
- VE Day
- A Trip Around the World – Cultural Dance
- Space Travel
- The Rain Forest
- The Great Fire of London
How Often: Once you have paid for one lesson you will be able to view it until the children go back to school and normality has once again resumed. We plan to add two lessons per week, possibly more (we will look to offer a discount if we film more than two a week).
If you are interested, just email me at Laura.email@example.com with the subject line ‘Virtual’ and which year groups you would interested in the dance lessons for and we’ll be in touch to let you know when the first lesson will be ready.
