THEMED CREATIVE DANCE WORKSHOPS
Laura used Diwali and ‘Festival of Lights’ and Bonfire Night and Fireworks as the themes to engage the children and develop their creativity through well-planned and challenging tasks.
Laura Prince from LP Dance in Education worked with pupils from Nursery –Year 4 in both Broomley First and Whittonstall First Schools as part of our Creative Arts week on the theme of Light & Dark. Both the pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed the workshops which were held over two days. Laura used Diwali and ‘Festival of Lights’ and Bonfire Night and Fireworks as the themes to engage the children and develop their creativity through well-planned and challenging tasks.
I would not hesitate to recommend Laura to other schools and we are looking forward to having her come in again.

All the children and staff learnt so much, made great progress and most importantly had fun whilst learning.
Laura and Grace from LP Dance in Education came into school as part our Arts week. The theme was celebrating the Olympics. The dances were well prepared and age appropriate. The team’s enthusiasm was passed onto the children who enjoyed learning and performing dances in front of their peers.
Laura Prince and her team worked at Riverside Primary School for a fortnight last summer as part of our International Fortnight event. I told Laura the countries each class would be studying for the two-week period. She and her team produced excellent choreography linked to dances characteristic of each country.
The dances were well prepared and age appropriate. The team’s enthusiasm was passed onto the children who enjoyed learning and performing dances in front of their peers. Opportunities were provided for older children to add in dance ideas of their own and work together in groups. All staff had excellent behaviour management strategies and every child was included in the dance.
Before the showcase event, which was presented to parents, Laura and her team made themselves available to do a dress rehearsal as a whole school and be there at the showcase to introduce each dance to parents and carers.
